In January 2006, we were asked to increase the performance of a web server that was being heavily loaded with traffic related to the Canadian Federal election. We were flown to Ottawa where we radically improved the load-handling capacity of the single web server that was being inundated with network traffic.
Using our web server acceleration techniques, we were able to save our client the significant expense and downtime of having to migrate their website onto a load-balanced cluster of servers. In fact, it would have required a cluster of over 10 servers to match the increased performance of the single server after implementing our optimization techniques. Our optimization methods had the added benefit of immunizing our clients website against certain forms of hacking techniques along with helping our client survive 2 minor denial-of-service attacks with no downtime.
